The Girl Behind the Camera
My name is Isabel. I love pasta, binge-watching TV shows, being outdoors, exploring the Upstate, and traveling.
I’m originally from Germany, where I grew up and spent most of my life. When I married my husband, who is a Chicago native, I moved to the United States so we could finally be together. Until our first son was born, I mostly worked in Marketing and Customer Service in the Tourism and Aviation industry.
I've always loved photography, and my friends and I loved setting up all kinds of impromptu photo sessions. It wasn't until our first son was born in 2019 that I picked up my husband's old Canon and, over the years, taught myself everything I needed to know about using a "proper" camera. I wanted to freeze time and capture all the big and little moments of his childhood. Being a mom made me see life through a child's eyes again and appreciate so many of the little things I had forgotten to notice.
I discovered I loved taking photos of friends and eventually built a business around it. Being able to freeze time for other families, capture their personalities and connections, and hopefully make people smile through my photos is what makes me happy. Taking photos is my passion, and you will probably see me get super excited about perfect lighting, a beautiful location, or capturing genuine emotions.
I love traveling and getting to know new cultures around the globe. My happiest place is back in Germany, where I grew up—showing my kids everything I love over there and spending time with family and friends from my childhood. It truly fills my cup more than anything.
One of my dreams for the future is to bring together my love of travel and photography. I'd love to one day use my photography to bring more cultural and environmental awareness to people through the places and stories I encounter around the world.
In friendships and relationships, I really value reliability, integrity, and accountability. What you see is what you get with me, and I have almost no filter. Lastly, I love sleeping in whenever the kids and their schedules allow me to!
Our house is wild, so if you book a family session with me and ever worry that your kids are "too feral"—don't. Your kids cannot scare me. ;) Let's embrace the chaos together.
